How popular is 20th Century Italian Art? Sotheby’s is predicting it will rack up the highest total take ever recorded by any auction house in that category when it stages its October sale in London. An example of offerings is a painting by Gino Severini with a high estimate of nearly $1m.
Works from two major collections will join other individual consignments spanning the whole of the 20th Century, including work by Marino Marini, Giorgio de Chirico, Giorgio Morandi, Alberto Burri, Piero Manzoni, Alberto Burri, Alighiero Boetti and Michelangelo Pistoletto.
