An astounding manuscript written in 1202 by Fibonacci in which he introduces to the West the concept of “Arabic numerals,” (the numbers 0-10). Â The illustrated work will be auctioned by Bohnam’s on June 22 in New York.
Called, “Liber Abaci,” or, “The Book of Calculation,” the manuscript first appeared in Italy in 1202. It incorporated the so-called, “Fibonacci Sequence,” which—800 years later–had a big plot role in the best selling potboiler, “The Da Vinci Code.”
