Seven years after country music legend Johnny Cash’s death, Julien’s Auctions will offer a wide mix of articles from his life and career. An inscribed Grammer Johnny Cash guitar (est.$30-$40,000) will be the highlight of the December 5th sale, which also includes handwritten lyrics, letters, stage clothing, and assorted memorabilia.
Update: The 321-lot auction brought in over $700,000, or double the pre-sale estimate.
Two other of Cash’s guitars will be in the sale, a vintage 1952 Martin that he used in the studio and as his tour bus instrument (est. $20-$30,000), and another Martin from the 80’s, inscribed by Cash with the first four lines of “I Walk the Line.”
