September 27, 2012Although “Mommie Dearest” gobbled all the headlines, it’s worth noting the American Film Institute still voted Joan Crawford one of the 10 greatest film actresses of all time, and her Oscar Statue for “Mildred Pierce” just knocked down $426,731 in a protracted online auction that included 24 bidders.

That was in 2003, and in the years since the market for Academy Awards has soared. This time around, it may take a record $2.5m-$3.5m to win the Oscar, which Los Angeles based Nate D. Sanders is offering in an online sale ending June 28.

In the letter written to William Jarvis, American consul in Lisbon, the former President reports on the expedition and expresses the hope that Lewis & Clark will find a water route to the Pacific.

December 17, 2010A mystery buyer has paid almost ninety thousand dollars for a wooden coffin that once held the remains of Lee Harvey Oswald, the accused assassin of John F. Kennedy. Bidding had begun at $1000 for the coffin, which Santa Monica auctioneer Nate D. Sanders sold on behalf of the funeral director who handled the 1981 exhumation of Oswald’s body.
