We’ve already written about one highlight at Bonhams motorcycle auction this weekend in Staffordshire. That’s the bike known as “VinnyLongLegs,” a remarkable 1955 one-owner Vincent that’s traveled over 700,000 miles. There are a number of other unusual bikes in the auction, however, including four Ducati racers with illustrious histories. Four-time World Superbike Champion Carl Fogarty owned two of them, and both Reuben Xaus and Noriyuki Haga.raced a third, a Ducati 999 FO3 that’s estimated at $82,600-$116,000.
Update: The top lot at the sale was a 1934 Brough Superior, which sold within estimates for $218,000.
The motorcycle carrying the highest estimate is a 1934 Brough Superior SS100, known as the ‘Rolls-Royce of Motorcycles.” Certainly its expected price rivals a Rolls: It’s expected to fetch $198,000-$248,000.
