Carrying high expectations, David Hockney’s “Autumn Pool” will highlight Phililps de Pury’s London Sale of Contemporary Art on October 13-14. Phillips anticipates a record for the six-panel 1978 composition, which carries of pre-sale estimate of $1.1-1.58 million.
Other works of note in the two-day sale are Andy Warhol’s ‘Scream (After Edvard Munch).’ (est.$793,000-$1.1 million), Maurizio Cattelan’s “Una Domenica a Rivara”(est. $634-$952,000), and Ed Rusha’s “Bee?”(estimate $634-$952,000). In all, Phillips will offer 204 lots with a total estimated value of $13.3-$19.2 million.
