Numerous celebrities have called Miami’s Star Island home, including Madonna, Shaquille O’Neal, and Will Smith. Should you want to join that crew, there’s a waterfront estate coming up for auction there on November 3rd. 15 Star Island Drive is a 9 bedroom, 9 bath hacienda with over 100 feet of deepwater bayfront and its own extended dock. There’s plenty of room to knock around in its 8700sf of living space, along with pool and cabanas, while you look on its views of Miami and its surrounding waters. The minimum bid for all this is $10.5m.
If Star Island’s high profile seems a bit much, there’s another oceanfront home heading toward the block that’s just up the Florida coast. This one is in Golden Beach, around 20 minutes from South Beach. It isn’t exactly a cottage: the 7,694sf home sits on .8 acres, with its own private 125 foot wide beach as well as a pool. There are 4 bedrooms, 4 baths and 2 half-baths, and lots of high-end frills: entertainment center, marble fireplaces, tie flooring, and blue granite countertops. Originally listed for $12.9m, tt’s being sold in an absolute auction on November 10th, meaning it will go to the highest bidder regardless of price.
Literally just up the beach is a home built by the brother of the seller in Golden Beach. This one, originally listed for $11.5m, sits on .67 acres with100 feet of private beach. It offers a total of 7,694sf of living space, including 6 bedrooms, 6 baths, two half-baths and a separate guest house. The estate has a pool and spa overlooking the Atlantic as well as a courtyard with loggia connecting the guest house and the main entrance. Here, too, there are all sorts of high-end touhes, including pecky cypress ceilings with crown moldings, flooring of onyx, porcelain tile and hardwood, and a kitchen with custom cabinetry and blue granite counter tops. This one, too, is being sold in an absolute auction on November 10.
There’s another waterfront estate heading towards auction in Virginia Beach, Va. that is billed as both “grand” and “impressive,’ which in this case doesn’t seem excessive. Consider the particulars: 14,000sf of living space, a 6000sf garage, two docks with two 60-foot slips, and a 5-bedroom home with 7 full baths, 4 half-baths, a gourmet kitchen—you can probably fill in the rest. All the rooms have expansive water views. The “nominal” opening bid for this showplace will be $500,000 at its auction on November 3rd.
Those preferring lakes may find a waterfront retreat on Wisconsin’s Oconomowoc Lake more appealing. The six-acre estate, about 20 minutes from Milwaukee, is being sold in two parcels. The first one includes five acres and the main house, which has 9 rooms, including 4 bedrooms, 4 baths plus powder room, an entertainment wing, a gym and sauna. Accessed by a private drive, the grounds have over 200 feet of lake frontage with two private piers, a car “pavilion,” and a car collector’s barn. The second parcel offers a 9 room guest residence with 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, a wet bar, fireplace, deck, 2-car attached garage, and 2-car detached garage. It also features a private drive and has just under 200 feet of lake frontage, along with a boat house, dock, and log cabin.
