Only one copy exists of Universal’s 1935 teaser one sheet Style E movie poster for “The Bride of Frankenstein,” now in the Todd Feiertag Collection. Heritage will offer it at their Beverly Hills Signature Movie Poster Auction on November 11-13, when it’s expected to sell for over $700,000.
The ultra-rare poster from the Todd Feiertag Collection isn’t perfect. It’s listed in unrestored condition with a variety of minor imperfections. All the same, if it reaches its estimate, it will be the highest auction price ever for its category. A poster for “The Mummy,” which sold for $453,500in March, 1997, holds the current auction record. “Early Universal Horror movie posters are the blue chips of the collecting hobby,” said Heritage’s Grey Smith, “and this incredible Universal Horror one sheet…is easily the most dramatic I’ve ever seen, from any genre.”
